Black Angus and Valhalla's Anvil...

Picture
Welcome to Valhalla's Anvil! I am known world wide as Black Angus, a blacksmith / bladesmith, jeweler and leather worker in the medieval / renaissance, fantasy, sci fi and steampunk genres. I have been making and selling my products at Renaissance Festivals, Conventions, SCA and Dagorhir Events for 13+ years now. We at Valhalla's Anvil specialize in custom orders and as we may not be the fastest at making what you want, we pride ourselves in quality over quantity! That being said enjoy our products and if you don't see what you are looking for please email me at valhallasanvil@yahoo.com for a custom price quote.
If it is something we can't  make we may know someone who does!

I want to apologize for how long it is taking me to get this site going... I am not really good at this and am trying to make new stuff to add to it! Thank you for your patience!

The Black Angus Project

Hello I am Black Angus of Valhalla's Anvil!

I am a blacksmith/bladesmith, jeweler and leather worker in the Medieval, Fantasy, Scifi and Steampunk Genres. I have been in business since 1999. As of late the economy and my personal life has stood in the way of my business. I am trying to change this, but I need help. Below is my plan for what I will do if I can raise enough money...

First I need to get some equipment and supplies in order to keep making things, design new pieces and lower the prices of my products. If I could buy metals and leather in bulk I would be able to get it cheaper, thus passing that savings on to my buyers.

Everywhere I go these days I see made in China or Pakistan or some other 3rd world country. It is far and few between to find things Made in America and even harder still to find things made here that are at reasonable prices. At every Faire or Convention there is a plethora of merchants selling import knives, swords, jewelry and leather work. Because these merchants are not actually making the products they sell they can sell it at 4-5 times what they paid for it and still be the cheapest at the event. I want to change that! I want to make quality products, handmade here in America that will at least come close to the prices of the imports. The only way I can do this is to get better tools and buy bulk supplies.

I also want to show the world what I can do. To this point I have yet to push the limits of my abilities and make my own Masterpieces. I have plans for things I can make in every element that I work in that will not only push my own boundaries but also teach me something new in the process. As of yet I have not had the funding to bring these things to life, so to speak.

Lastly, I need to get a vehicle that can haul all of my merchandise to events. I have a Ford E-350 diesel van sitting in my driveway but it needs a lot of work  before it is able to be road worthy. I am not a mechanic but if I can get the capitol to fix it up I can figure it out.

Your donations will be used to get my business back on track and to make me a royal thorn in the side for import dealers. You do not need to donate a whole bunch, if I can get $2 - $5 from all of those who are willing to help I can get the things I need to give this small American business a fighting chance in this import saturated society.

If you are willing to help in this endeavor please hit the donate button! If you need to donate by mail please email me at valhallasanvil@yahoo.com!

Thank You All,

Black Angus Bartholomew Silverleaf

p.s. All updates and pictures of what the donations go toward will be posted on the website as they are used

Donations Status

As of Nov 1, 2012 I have received $40.00 in donations! This has went towards propane for my forge and a couple of pieces of steel that I made into shepards hooks and a banner holder on my Blades and Blacksmithing Gallery Page...Scroll to the bottom of the page!
